Against my better judgment, I hav…

Against my better judgment, I have decided to “reinvent the wheel”* and make my own web-based journal, I´m sure there is a better word for this, something catchy and web-y, but I don´t know it.

I´ve noticed two common mistakes that people make when they decide to make a web-based journal (there is that clunky phrase again. Hereinafter “WBJ”) These mistakes are that

1.) They assume that their lives are interesting and they have something to say

2.) If they do have an interesting life, they don´t tell enough about it.

With those two things in mind I have decided to do this… I will only update (2!) when and if my life is interesting and I have something to say. (1!)

Right now I am still in Spain, I have been here for about 2 months and have been trying to find work and get myself established. It is looking pretty grim as the entire country is now on holiday until the end of August. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is happening here. The per capita consumption of ham is still high, but aside from that, not much else.

I have just enrolled today in a TEFL course, to certify me to teach English. Something I have avoided like the plague. The thought of an army of people saying things that I may have muttered by accident, like “that movie sucked” spreading though a population like Ebola.

It is looking like I might go to Taiwan in August. I have accepted a job their teaching English. The course I´m taking is both to have the certificate, and also to not flail around when I am in front of the class.
