Bruxism and Adam Smith

I think my bruxism has worsened the closer we get to the elections.

Of course it will all be over soon.

It seems to me that we are reaching a point where the “invisible hand” of Adam Smith, as well as the benefits of luxurious consumption written of by Bernard de Mandeville has reached the point of absurdity.

Unlike the present day, self-interest, luxury, profit motivation and greed in the 18th century didn’t come at the expense of the world’s poor, the environment or our own health.

It bring to mind the Ouroboros. The image of the snake eating it’s own tail, but not in some modern faux-Zen soft-headed karma way. (Death and life and blah blah blah.) Instead it is a showcase of our own greed. We are eating ourselves.
