And 26 years later (avec Susi)…

Broken Fingers

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

I’m going to jiu-jitsu almost everyday now. And so I broke another finger, this brings my current broken fingers up to two. My typing has gotten a lot slower. Of course all this happens by accident, today I had my finger trapped in someone’s gi and they rolled snapping my finger. I think someone should do a study…. I was thinking about this after I banged one of my broken fingers… I wonder if you bang injuries on stuff more often than other parts of your body, or if you just notice it more. I think you may hit them more when they are swollen, but the world may never know.

Surf and Surfing Ecuador

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

The article on surfing Ecuador is coming right along. I’ve had a great response and can’t wait to share the information with you. Again, send me an email if you want to find out how to surf Ecuador on the cheap.

Red Tape and Snowboarding

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

I just finished my settlement visa application for the U.K. I applied so I could move to London with Susi and work there. It was a task like cleaning the Aegean stables. They wanted everything. So I printed out everything and gave it to them, kitchen-sink style. I figure they can sort through the hundreds of pages of proof and look for the proper documents. That is why it cost me over 500 bucks.

We went snowboarding yesterday and it was really warm out. I was wearing a t-shirt and snowboard pants, no jacket. Good fun. The snow was melting all day and about the consistency of Slurpee.

Hitched

Susi and I got married today in Las Vegas. It was a really nice ceremony in a little white chapel and Grandma Honey was the witness. A lovely time was had by all. Susi refused to be married by Elvis (apparently he was too sweaty) so instead we had something a bit more normal, albeit with a showgirl minister. But the minister was a lot deeper than she looked. Very nice.

I’ll put up photos soon.

Gnus

Tuesday, February 7th, 2006

Ok, three things have caught my attention.

First, it was a cartoon. Not in good taste. Let it go. A few people made some tacky decisions. I’ll tell you what, you can cartoons about Jesus if you want. No killing, no burning of embassies.

Second, for all the lip service and saber rattling given by the bush administration about how other countries need to respect “the rule of law”, they should try obeying U.S. Laws, namely the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Finally, I went to Harper’s Ferry over the weekend and read all about John Brown. A guy who fought to end slavery and led a revolution, which was quickly squashed by the U.S. Marines. A terrorist at the time, he is practically a saint now. I guess it history depends on whose side you were on at the time.

Democracy?

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

I wonder: Is the current administration a harbinger for the failure of the American Democratic Experiment?
Is the next step tyranny?
