Back from the BJJ Brasileiro Championships.

I returned today from the 2009 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brasileiros’ in Rio.
I wound up getting second in my division.
This made me pretty happy as it was a huge competition with a lot of talent. The first fights went very well, but in the final I ran into problems with a very strong fighter.

Other than that, it was a good trip, short, but with a lot of really good training.

    Thanks Can! I’m really lucky to be able to compete here in these competitions. Coming up is the Sul-Brasileiros and then the International Master’s and Seniors/Rio Open. But since I will be a Dad, I’m not sure I will make those this year.

    Yeah, parenting does seem to be a very intensive job. I’ve been looking after my niece while job hunting, which has definitely reaffirmed my desire to never have children (and she’s a comparatively well-behaved toddler!).
